William was sent to Van Demein's Land and never returned to the United Kingdom leaving a wife and 3 children there. He never remarried and after he worked in Hobart, Tasmania for awhile he was sent to work for James Cox at Clarendon via Nile, Tasmania where he worked as a labourer for 30 years. He died September 1862. He was my great great grandfather.

Your information- William Thompson 4x grandfather.His son James married Ann Thimblebee/y in 1845 they had 3 children before leaving England if anyone can find the ship they embarked on I would be vry pleased it would be between July 1852 and July 1854

William Thompson would be my gggggrandfather, his son James Thompson & family came to Tasmania to a place called Claredo near Evandale assuming to find his father I descend from this family regards Judith Pitchford nee Thompson
